Bahrain: Don't execute victims of torture
Update – 22nd October 2018: death sentences for Mohamed Ramadhan and Husain Moosa overturned and retrials ordered
19 people are currently on Bahrain's death row, many of them political prisoners. 2 now face imminent execution.
MAHER ABBAS AL-KHABBAZ (Facing imminent execution) - hotel bellboy, disappeared by Bahraini police for a week and tortured so severely he was transferred to hospital. False confession used to sentence him to death.
MOHAMED RAMADHAN (Death sentence overturned. Retrial ordered) - father of three, blindfolded, stripped, beaten with iron rods. False confession used to secure his death sentence.
HUSAIN MOOSA (Death sentence overturned. Retrial ordered) - Mohamed’s co-defendant, hung from the ceiling by his wrists for three days and beaten. Signed a false confession, implicating them both. He later called Mohamed’s family to apologise, saying he wished he was able to withstand the torture.
Will you join us in calling on the King of Bahrain and the Bahraini government to stop the execution of torture victims?
